I am a survivor of domestic violence for over 8 years of my life. Sexual abuse in the relationship, mental and physical abuse. I was broken for many years. I just want to say that in this day and time, with the resources available, never be afraid to walk away. As women, we deserve to be treated with love and respect. We shouldn’t have to earn it; we deserve it.

This is ridiculous, putting the responsibility on the victim. At least some of these so called stats are inaccurate.

Hello, My name is Octavia B. I am a survivor of Domestic Violence! I didn’t know the severity of Domestic Violence until December 2024. I have been awakened by my husband. The person that was going to protect me from predators, was the predator! I would love to partake in speaking out on the forum once my counseling sessions are complete and I have had time to heal.

That’s a weird way to twist the facts. You’re using the statistics on women who felt physically intimidated and the statistics on men who actually had acts of physical violence commented against them in order to try to show women as having more violence against them when in reality the actual statistics are this: The CDC’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey during 2016-2017 found that in the United States, 42.3% of men and 42.0% of women reported having experienced physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
