Hi. One thing that strikes me immediately, is that this article posits the listed characteristics as undesirable traits.
However, the listed characteristics are natural components of the introverted mind. Sigma characteristics are only seen as undesirable by those whose brain-chemistry and personalities (ie: extroverts) naturally seek stimulation through social discourse, and find comfort in belonging to a team.

I have met many Sigmas in my life, and none of them were extroverts.

There may be however, those extroverted individuals who feel unfulfilled, and attempt to grasp at identity by copping the Sigma “lifestyle”. Since Sigma behavior is counter to their natures, affectation of Introverted qualities would quickly lead to depression.

These are the individuals that your article addressed.

You make some interesting points. I was interested that your list of Sigma Male Examples were all fictional. (Also you missed Sherlock Holmes, and James Bond.) I would be interested in a list of actual Sigma Males, such as Bruce Lee, Leonardo Da Vinci, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Sidney George Reilly, etc.

I recently discovered the concept of the Sigma male, and it describes me to the core. I always thought the traits of this personality were due to being an only child. It would be an interesting study to determine if there is any correlation.

This was such a great piece. I’ll be honest and say I never read an article. I’ll skim. However, I did take the time to read this one. For the longest time, I’d wanted to figure out who my husband was and lord have mercy if you didn’t hit the head on the nail with him with this entire article.
